Candidate for Saint Louis, MO, Board of Directors, Maplewood-Richmond Heights School District
As a parent and educator with professional experience in university teaching and administration, I know I can make meaningful contributions to student learning, teacher support, and other aspects of district policy.
My why is pretty simple. All children deserve to be safe, supported, and educated. No matter their race, gender, family income, religion, the language they speak at home, their learning style, where they live, what support they need to succeed, how they get to school, or whether their families are brand new to the district or have been here for years. Every kid. No exception. Public education–thriving, sustainable public education–is the heart and soul of our democracy and also of our little community. I believe in both. MRH is the best that public education offers to children and their families and I want to be part of safeguarding this district’s hard-fought legacies while finding solutions to today’s challenges.

The Democratic National Committee’s Local Listeners program is built around a simple idea: Democrats are stronger when they listen first. The program trains volunteers and organizers to have real, relationship-based conversations—especially in communities that often feel ignored—so local concerns, not assumptions, shape messaging and outreach. Instead of leading with talking points, Local Listeners creates a feedback loop that helps campaigns stay grounded in what voters actually care about.
Cuts to food assistance programs are already impacting millions of families who rely on help to afford groceries. Nutrition programs support children, seniors, veterans, and working parents during times of economic strain. With benefits reduced, many households are facing difficult choices about food, rent, and other essentials. This petition urges Congress to restore food aid funding and ensure families regain access to the support they need.
Reports show rising violence inside federal and state prisons, putting incarcerated people and correctional staff at serious risk. Overcrowding, staffing shortages, and limited oversight have contributed to unsafe conditions that undermine rehabilitation and public safety. This petition urges Congress to investigate the causes of escalating violence and take action to improve safety, accountability, and humane conditions within the prison system.
