Candidate for NC, 3rd Congressional District

Raymond Smith has served his community in uniform, in the classroom, and in the state legislature. Born and raised in Goldsboro, the decorated Army combat veteran, teacher, and former football coach is now running for Congress in North Carolina’s 3rd District to give working families a stronger voice in Washington.

During two terms in the General Assembly, Smith worked to expand rural healthcare access, fund public education, and improve infrastructure. His experience as a school board member and transportation planner also shaped his understanding of the services communities depend on.

His priorities include lowering costs for working families, strengthening public schools and teacher pay, expanding access to affordable healthcare, and standing up for seniors and veterans. Smith wants to bring practical, bipartisan leadership to Congress—with a commitment to listening, delivering, and putting Eastern North Carolina first.
