Candidate for St. Louis, MO, Board of Directors, Maplewood-Richmond Heights School District

As a parent and educator with professional experience in university teaching and administration, I know I can make meaningful contributions to student learning, teacher support, and other aspects of district policy.

My why is pretty simple. All children deserve to be safe, supported, and educated. No matter their race, gender, sexuality, family income, religion, the language they speak at home, their learning style, where they live, what support they need to succeed, how they get to school, or whether their families are brand new to the district or have been here for years. Every kid. No exception. Public education–thriving, sustainable public education–is the heart and soul of our democracy and also of our little community. I believe in both. MRH is the best that public education offers to children and their families and I want to be part of safeguarding this district’s hard-fought legacies while finding solutions to today’s challenges.

The Democratic National Committee’s Local Listeners program is built around a simple idea: Democrats are stronger when they listen first. The program trains volunteers and organizers to have real, relationship-based conversations—especially in communities that often feel ignored—so local concerns, not assumptions, shape messaging and outreach. Instead of leading with talking points, Local Listeners creates a feedback loop that helps campaigns stay grounded in what voters actually care about.

The Environmental Protection Agency is considering changes that would weaken limits on hazardous “cancer gas” pollution released by refineries and chemical plants. Health experts warn that relaxing these protections could expose nearby communities to higher levels of toxic emissions linked to cancer and other serious illnesses. This petition urges federal leaders to reject the proposed rollback and maintain strong pollution standards that protect public health and vulnerable communities.

Recent reports have raised concerns about suspicious trading activity tied to the Iran war, with some investors appearing to place highly timed bets or trades before major military or policy announcements. Experts and lawmakers say these patterns may suggest the misuse of nonpublic information, though no direct wrongdoing has been proven. Such concerns highlight the need for transparency and accountability when financial markets intersect with national security decisions. This petition urges Congress to investigate potential insider trading and ensure that no one profits unfairly from war-related decisions.
